Meet the girls

 

    Mak and Jill have been friends since seventh grade. They both were lucky to have creative mamas who encouraged their artistic sides. 

  They have 45 years experience between the two of them upcycling furniture, creating works of art, styling and interior design. They have a beautiful store "The Abode" - located on Avenida Del Mar in downtown San Clemente, where you can find their upcycled furniture, unique finds, and so much more.

They are stockists of Chalk Paint® decorative paint and offer furniture painting workshops, teaching others what they have learned over a lifetime.

FURNITURE PAINTING WORKSHOP - BRING YOUR OWN PIECE

Want to breathe new life into old, worn-out furniture? Then join us for this relaxed, fun and informative workshop.

Bring a SMALL piece of furniture (nightstand, chair, small side table, large decorative frame) and transform it during this class.

You will learn:

*Basic Painting Application

*Wax Application

*Distressing

*Antiquing

This class is $95 and includes all supplies. Just bring your piece of furniture and wear painting clothes. We will provide the rest, including a light snack!

To help ensure you leave with a finished piece, we have some guidelines to follow:

*Piece of furniture must not be too large - we need to limit the size of the piece due to time and space limitations.  If you are unsure, please call us and we can talk about it!

*No advanced techniques. Color washes, two-color layering, etc can be learned in our more advanced workshop.

*Workshop fee is per person. 

You'll leave the class with a beautiful, finished piece of furniture and the confidence to transform all your projects! Class sizes are small - be sure to secure your space.

Let an experienced Decorative Painter teach you everything you need to know to start creating your own masterpieces with Chalk Paint®decorative paint.

In this fun workshop you'll learn six gorgeous finishes and tons of tips and tricks, that you can use to transform your furniture, fixtures, cabinets and walls - into works of art.

6 Techniques: Color Wash, Two-Color Reveal, Rustic Country - Crackle & Crusty, Lime Wash, Wet Waxing and Frottage.

These unique techniques will be painted on moldings and items provided by MaK & JiLL. You will take home many finished samples, reference materials, and plenty of confidence to tackle all your future projects! Get ready for a fun and inspiring class!

Individual (one-on-one) or group workshops. Classes can be custom designed to your needs - available in our workshop or a location of your choosing. We'll come to your home! Enjoy personal one-on-one instruction as we work on your piece together. Choose your favorite look and learn proper finishing, enhancing techniques, and all the tips and tricks of an experienced decorative painter. You'll have a finished piece of furniture and the confidence to transform all your projects! It will be fun and we'll bring all the supplies.
